Ferro-Zinc Coated SuperGalv Nails

With the use of DisTeK Thermal Diffusion Technology.
Abracon introduces SuperGalv Nails, which are manufactured with the development of special Zinc coating technologies, intended for reliable anti-corrosive protection.

SuperGalv Nails are coated with a 45 micron DisTeK coating, which is an environmentally friendly process - As tested by the EPA, Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy August 2006, Vol 8, No. 3, pp 198-202 - for the Zinc coating of products, intended for reliable anti-corrosive protection where needed (**up to 1500 hours in a salt-spray chamber). The basis of this process is diffusion of Zinc molecules into metal surfaces of items at temperatures ranging between 320° - 500°C. This gives the product superior corrosive protection as tested by the CSIR in South Africa and other laboratories world wide. The coating conforms to the SANS 53811 - 2006 specification. The result is a special anti-corrosive cover of iron-zinc alloys. Advantages of Ferro-Zinc coated SuperGalv nails:

Salt & Spray Chamber Results
The result after 750 hours in the salt-spray chamber was that White rust was only detected on the DisTek coated nails, whereas the Galvanised nails were covered in Red rust after 96 hours, thus resulting in total failure.Therefore the DisTek coated nails proved to withstand the forced corrosion test for longer, up to 1500 hours.

Coating of the nails will be one of the following:
Bright - unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, wire nails will have a bright finish. This bright finish is the result of the cutting and tumbling actions during the production process and no special coating is applied.

Special coatings: Electro galvanised, yellow passivated, cement coated, cadmium plated, serrated shank and black passivated.
DisTeK™ Thermal Diffusion Zinc Coating – An environmentally friendly process for the zinc coating of products, which is intended for reliable anti-corrosive protection where needed. (Up to 1500 hours in a salt mist chamber, depending on coating thickness).

Other alternative finishes need to be specified by the purchaser.
